A hearing aid centre, not a hearing aid shop

Many of the people who come to us have been somewhere else first.

They arrive with a device that whistles, or one that makes everything louder without making anything clearer, or one that has been in a drawer since the month it was bought. Often a great deal of money has been spent, and the conclusion drawn is that hearing aids simply don’t work for them.

The device is rarely the problem.

It was fitted to an average ear rather than to theirs.

Your hearing loss has a shape — particular frequencies, in a particular ear, affecting particular situations. A hearing aid has to be programmed to that shape, and verified afterwards to confirm it worked.

Doing it properly takes time, and it takes an audiologist. It is why we won’t discuss a device until we understand your hearing.

What that means for you?

You are heard before anything is recommended — your hearing, your daily life, and where you struggle most.

Your results are explained clearly, so you understand what is happening with your hearing and why.

You are guided afterwards — through the trial, the fitting, the adjustments, and the years that follow.

Dr. Nabarun and Dr. Sarmistha both consult in Hindi and English.

What we do at the Borivali clinic

Comprehensive hearing assessment

Pure-tone audiometry, speech testing in quiet and in noise, otoscopy and tympanometry. ₹2,500, adjusted if hearing aids are purchased.

Hearing aid fitting

Fitting starts from your own ear. We measure through the device while it sits in your canal, then verify the benefit rather than assume it.

Newborn and paediatric

OAE screening from the first days of life, and BERA testing for infants and children who cannot respond to standard tests.

Tinnitus management

Characterisation, contributing-factor evaluation, sound therapy and Tinnitus Retraining Therapy.

Vestibular and balance

Assessment for dizziness, vertigo and unsteadiness, including BPPV — and treatment where a cause is found.

Home visits in Borivali

For patients who cannot travel easily. We will tell you honestly what can be assessed at home and what needs the sound-treated room.

Which hearing aid brands we work with

We are not tied to a single manufacturer. We work across six leading global brands — Phonak, Signia, Widex, Starkey, Oticon and ReSound — because no one brand suits every hearing loss, every ear, or every budget.

Which one we reach for depends on your audiogram, how you struggle with speech in noise, the shape of your ear canal, and how you actually spend your day. Not on what we have in stock.

If you want to compare the brands in detail, we have set that out separately.

Try before you decide

You can trial a hearing aid in your own life before committing to it — at home, at work, on the train, in a restaurant, wherever you currently struggle. A device that performs well in a quiet consulting room tells you very little.

Home visits are available across Borivali for patients who cannot travel comfortably. Trial terms vary by device, and we will explain them plainly before you start.

Who you will see

Both of the audiologists at DEB’s are the people who founded it. Whichever of them you see, you are seeing an owner of the clinic — not a technician working to someone else’s targets. Both are certified by the Rehabilitation Council of India, and both consult in Hindi and English.

What hearing aids cost in Borivali

Hearing aids at DEB’s start from around ₹25,000 and rise from there depending on the technology inside them, how well they separate speech from background noise, whether they connect to your phone, whether they recharge.

More expensive does not mean more suitable. We recommend based on your hearing loss, your budget, and the situations you actually need to hear in. If a mid-range device will serve you as well as a premium one, we will tell you.

We are at Shop No 26/A, Sumer Nagar Building 3, near Domino's Pizza on SV Road at RM Bhattad Road, Borivali West, Mumbai 400092 — a short distance from Borivali station.

An appointment is strongly recommended. A comprehensive assessment takes 60 to 90 minutes and we set that time aside for you specifically. Call or WhatsApp +91 88507 69404 to book.

Hearing aids at DEB's start from around ₹25,000. Price reflects the technology inside the device rather than the quality of the outcome. The right device for you depends on your audiogram, your listening needs and your budget — and we recommend on that basis, not on price.

A comprehensive hearing assessment takes 60 to 90 minutes. It covers pure-tone audiometry, speech understanding in quiet and in noise, uncomfortable loudness levels, ear examination and middle ear testing, along with a discussion of your history and daily listening situations.

In India, anyone can sell hearing aids. Only an RCI-certified audiologist is a government-recognised healthcare professional qualified to diagnose hearing conditions and determine whether a hearing aid is the right treatment at all. Every fitting at DEB's is done by an RCI-certified audiologist.

Yes, for patients who cannot travel due to health or mobility. We will explain what can be assessed accurately at home and whether a clinic visit is needed afterwards — some tests, including pure-tone audiometry, need the sound-treated room for accurate results.

Yes. We offer a trial period so you can test the device in your own environments before committing. Trial terms vary by brand and model.

Patients come to us from across Borivali West and East, Kandivali, Dahisar, IC Colony and Gorai, as well as from further across Mumbai.

Frequently Asked Questions

Book a hearing assessment in Borivali

If your hearing has changed, or someone close to you has noticed before you did, the first step is a proper assessment, not a device.

We will test your hearing thoroughly, explain what we find in plain language, and tell you honestly what you need. Sometimes that is hearing aids. Sometimes it is monitoring, a medical referral, or simply reassurance.
